I am an intuitive healer. I am also fairly allergic to the way that usually gets presented.
The honest version of what I do
We are all made of energy. That is not a belief system you need to sign up to, it is just physics at a very basic level. Some people can read that energy in others. I am one of them, and I have been since long before I had any language for it.
In practice it means I can feel what somebody is carrying. Roughly where it sits, often how long it has been there, and usually whether what they are telling me is the real thing or the version they have practised.
That is the whole of it. No ceremony required.
You do not have to explain yourself perfectly. I will usually sense the shape of it before you finish.
What a session actually involves
We talk. That is most of it. The difference is that I am reading rather than only listening, so the conversation tends to go somewhere faster than you expect.
I will tell you what I am picking up rather than sitting on it politely. Most people find that a relief, because it saves them the work of finding the words. A few find it disarming at first, which is fair enough.
Sessions run over Zoom, wherever you are in the world, or in person. Distance makes no difference to the reading, which surprises people, though it should not: you can tell over the phone when someone you love is upset.
What it is not
- It is not medical or psychiatric treatment, and it does not diagnose anything.
- It is not therapy. Therapy explores the past within a clinical framework. This works in the present.
- It is not fortune telling. I am reading what is there now, not what happens next.
- It is not a belief test. You can think the explanation is nonsense and still get something out of the hour.
Who it tends to help most
The people who get the most from this are usually the ones carrying something old that talking alone has not shifted. A grief that has not moved. A period they have never properly spoken about. Anxiety that does not match anything currently happening in their life.
Old events leave something behind. It sits in the body as much as the mind, and it carries on shaping decisions you believe you are making freely. That is the part that is hard to reach with conversation on its own.
The honest caveat
This does not work for everybody and I will tell you quickly if I do not think I can help. If what you need is a therapist or a doctor, I will say so and point you in that direction. If you are in crisis or at risk, please contact your GP, call 999, or reach the Samaritans free on 116 123, at any hour.
